IdeaReboot Inc, is looking for an Enterprise Data Architect for a position in one of the leading Financial Service providers. The Data Architect is a senior level professional who performs structured data requirements analysis and data modeling in support of application development. The Data Architect focuses on the elements required to manage all aspects of data from business requirements to logical and 1st cut physical data model. The key interests of the Data Architect include data models, metadata, and data sources and uses. Architects may play the role of application data modeler, portfolio data analyst, or portfolio data modeler.

Lead Enterprise Data Architect - Expectations

• Fully competent to perform all the duties and responsibilities of a Data Analyst in application data modeling and data analysis.
• Serve as a member of a portfolio team to support the implementation of data management plans and operations in a portfolio area.
• Ensures the portfolio’s data assets are electronically catalogued and that the data asset metadata is accurate and available to those who need it.
• Utilize prescribed standards for data naming, structuring and documentation in a metadata repository.
• Ensure the business metadata definitions of all data attributes and entities in a portfolio’s metadata collection are complete and accurate.
• Preserves or consolidates the CASE logical data model for all application projects within the portfolio.
• Work as part of a team of Data Management professionals supporting a Portfolio of development projects both regional and global in scope.
• Conducts peer reviews of completed data models within the portfolio to ensure quality and integrity from data capture through usage and archiving for the portfolio.
• Has an understanding of the physical data environment.
• Develops and manages relationships with BSD partners and Business Architects to ensure strategic use of a portfolio’s data assets.

Preferences

• 5+ Years of experience working as an application data modeler and/or business analyst where the majority of time was spent analyzing data requirements and producing data models.
• Understanding of related development project roles, e.g. Business Analyst, DBA.
• Experience in using an electronic metadata repository product such as CA Repository, Data manager, Rocade, or one of their competitors.
• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Business
• Detail-oriented analyst, with a demonstrated ability to produce complete and accurate data models using a modern CASE data modeling tool (e.g. Erwin, Embarcadero)
• Fully competent to perform all the duties and responsibilities of a Data Analyst in application data modeling and data analysis.
• Ability to coach others as they complete the tasks of an application Data Analyst.
• Ability to lead a small team of vendor or less senior Data modelers.
• Demonstrated competence in creating and maintaining business metadata descriptions in an electronic CASE tool.
• Ability to work co-operatively as part of a team as well as independently, under own initiative.
• Experience of working independently on logical data models and development projects.
• Ability to plan, scope and provide estimates for work effort, producing quality deliverables on time and in budget.
• Understanding of the full development project lifecycle and a project lifecycle methodology e.g. SSADM
• Experience of CASE tools to produce and maintain fully documented data models.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
