QA Engineer | Palo Alto | CA


Summary
IdeaReboot Inc is looking for QA Engineer to be part of a fast growing VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) team and work on the VDM (Virtual Desktop Manager) product. The VDI group focuses on bringing security, manageability and mobility benefits of virtualization to enterprise desktops. As a QA Engineer you will be working on new products in the VDI group and play a key role in developing the test harness and test plans. Excellent QA skills required. Ability to define the test cases based on marketing and engineering requirements. You must have experience performing black box as well as white box testing.

Expectations

  • 4-5 yrs of relevant QA experience.
  • 3+ years of testing in Linux/UNIX and Windows environments.
  • Industry experience in performing QA/Testing functions.
  • Previous automation experience in writing and executing test cases.
  • Experience developing test cases and test plans.
  • Strong knowledge of QA processes and methods.
  • Experience testing GUI.
  • Test Documentation.
  • Proficient in SilkTest Scripting.
  • Client/Server testing.
  • Directory Services (LDAP, MS Active Directory).
  • Networking protocols (TCP / IP, DHCP, DNS, RDP, VNC).
  • Security and authentication technologies (SSL / TLS, SSO, Firewalls).
  • QA tools like bug tracking systems (Bugzilla), test case tracking tools and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with any hardware architectures, preferably x86, would be a plus.
  • Experience in working as a developer a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, trouble shooting and problem solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision as well as work in a team.
  • Ability to interact with cross functional teams.
